I have squid and squidGuard installed (standard) on the e-smith server. I am attempting to customise the ACL in squidGuard. I know that customisations should be completed by creating custom templates.
The problem I am having is using username and client group mapping to control internet site mapping. If a user access a banned site the blocked web page appears but the Client name = , User ident = , Client group = fields are blank. The CGI script used runtime string substitutions %a ,%n,%i to display this information.
Is there a default setting in squid that needs to be changed to allow the blocked page to display the details correctly and also to allow the use of the user group in the acl ? What I am, trying to do is put selected users in their own group "MAFONLY" this group will restrict their access to only sites with "maf" in the URL.
Thanks for any pointers
