I would like to have an open-source as well as commercial product options to present to clients. To all you Linux experts out there, (which I am not) I was hoping someone may be able to take the time to help me on my quest. My initial investigation points to two possibilities:
Trend Micro, Interscan Viruswall, appears to offer a superb commercial product for Linux. It would require modification to work with e-smith. 30 day evaluation copy is available for download here:
http://www.antivirus.com/download/Details. A technical document detailing how to use the product with Qmail is available here:
http://solutionbank.antivirus.com/solutions/solutionDetail.asp?solutionID=5821I would very much appreciate it if someone could download Trend's product and work through the technical document above and report back with comments/suggestions and an installation how-to simple enough for even me to follow
The Qmail-scanner appears to be the open-source solution (
http://qmail-scanner.sourceforge.net/) that looks very promising. Again, it would require modification to work with e-smith and someone to report back with comments/suggestions and an installation how-to as well.
My preference would be for a Trend solution first, open-source second. As this is an urgent client request, I may be able to offer some form of compensation. Anyone interested in assisting may contact me directly to discuss this further.
