A screwy sequence of events...
1. Had a 4.01 server go down on me this weekend. Gasp! It was a hardware problem that was getting progressively worse and eventually blew-up before I could get the time to fix it. Turned out to be bad ram.
2. Put new ram in the machine and restarted the machine. Machine started up alright, but during the boot process it couldn't load the libc.so.5 module. As this is a pretty important module I couldn't really do anything network related. Scary. The libc module appeared to be in the right place etc...
3. After much fiddling around (no net connection with the server down) I managed to get the correct rpm (containing libc.so.5/6) and install it. After a reboot the problem was fixed and everything came up as it was supposed to.
And now the problem...
This could be completely un-related...
1. When trying to send e-mail from any of the windoze clients (outlook) I'm getting an rcpthosts problem. Your domain is not included in the rcpthosts file etc...
2. Receiving email from inside and outside works fine. Sending email from the server (i.e. using pine or webmail) works fine. Just can't send from the clients.
3. I've had a look at the rcpthosts file and everything looks good there (i.e. the domains listed seem correct) and the clients are logging in fine.
4. Not much in the qmail logs.
5. Nothing changed on the clients, and I don't think anything changed on the server. I'm stumped.
Any ideas????
Thanks in advance.
