I was going to install ImageMagic rpms onto my esmith server.  Is there anybody that has had success with this?  Is it even possible (due to esmiths template system).

Yes, it is possible, and the template system doesn't in any way prevent you from doing so.

See q19 in the FAQ on this web site for instructions on installing RPMS.

In order to install ImageMagic you will first need to install a bunch of libraries, include X11 libraries. However, if you just wish to use ImageMagick for web stuff, you could try not installing the X11 libraries, and install ImageMagic using the "--nodeps" option to rpm.
