Topic: Raid Failure - How to find Out?

I have an e-smith with 2 drives being mirrored with software mirroring.  I have unplugged a drive (i was bad, the machine was on) and no error was delivered.... when the drive was back online, no message.  Is there any announcement of the failure of a raid drive?

Check the /var/log/messages.You can at least see if the RAID is starting up.

There are also messages on screen during shutdown that show succesful shutdown of the RAID.

No warnings while the box is running is a bit of a worry, though.
