RBL support and remote SMTP config?
« on: April 24, 2001, 09:05:23 AM »
Dear all,

My e-smith server will be hosted at my ISP's datacenter, this causes me must to configure the obtuse-smtpd allowing remote connection for my offices. I understand that this may have potential relaying problem, and VPN may be used. But since VPN is more for occasional access rather than situation like mine, any better suggestions?

One remedy I thought which may work is to allow connection with From line containing our domain for at least some protection. Another is RBL support I found out from the net. I checked obtuse webpage, and know there is a patch to support RBL, but does anyone know that if e-smith's default obtuse-smtpd has included this patch or not?

Thanks for any advice,
Kai.

Actually I believe all you need to do is add your offices under the e-smith manager Local networks panel for your offices to be treated as local and permitted to access the mail services.
