A while back I messaged that I was having a problem retrieving mail from a multidrop account. Here is what solved it in case others are having problems. Hope this isn't too obvious. My mail is stored in a multidrop mail box at "my_domain.com". I named my e-smith server "e-smith.my_domain.com". Logs showed that the password was being rejected. Anyway I changed my e-smith server to "e-smith.my_domain.ccm" and it works fine for sending and receiving.

One problem I have encountered is that mail that's not an e-smith user is returned with information that may be confusing. If someone sends an email to me at "misspelled_name@my_domain.com is returned with a message that user "misspelled@e-smith.my_domain.ccm" is not a vailid user. I'd like it to say "misspelled@my_domain.com is not a valid user. I'm sure some template can be editied. Any hints.

You should set your primary domain name (which will affect 'not valid user' messages) as the primary domain name.  It sounds like you have set the domain as
e-smith.my_domain.com

The server (host) name is set separately from the actual domain in the next configuration step.

Next, in the manager console under mail retrieval, you should remove my_domain.com as the host you are collecting mail from to stop e-smith from trying to collect mail from itself, and replace it with the remote mail server hostname from which mail is collected - eg. mail.your_delegated_isp.com.

It should then collect your mail properly and your reject messages will be appropriate.

No my domain name is "my_domain.ccm"

This is how it is set up.

My rejection messages say that mail could not be received for
"no_user@e-smith.my_domain.ccm". I'd like it to reply that mail could not be received for "no_user@my_domain.com", which is where the message was addressed.
