Is it possible to configure webmail to act as webmail for Imap mail NOT on the e-smith box?

I have an Imap server on some other place on the Net and would like to access it through webmail on my e-smith box.

The answer to every 'Is it possible' question is almost always yes.  You would have to templates-custom the appropriate /home/html/horde/imp/config/defaults.php3 fragments.
