building a dialup system that shares a cable modem with clie

Dan Robinson

I would like to configure my e-smith server so that it accept incomming dialup connections and then is able to share it's internet connection with the dialup connection.  ( I would like to extend my internet connection over a dialup)

As for why on earth I would like to do this, simple I have a location from which there is no internet access, but I do have a modem, a line that is good for ~56k connections and a spare ~56k modem that can be attached to the e-smith server.

You will not be able to get any speeds faster than 33.6k and will probaly only hit at about 26.4k so your internet perfomance will be relatively slow.  You can only have one Analog to Digital conversion to obtain speeds up to 56k and it must be digital on the server end for it to work at the highest speed.
