It's very easy to install, just use the last version.. 1.8.7.

Get it here: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/myphpnuke/myphpnuke-1.8.7-full.zip

There is not a install.php, but still easy to install.

You need to add thr root at user to the config file and also add the password for this.

Search these threads for mysql password, and it will tell you how to find the mysql password within e-smith.

it is very easy to use. But you need that stuff.

Hi all,

I'm trying to install myPhpNuke and so far the instructions are clear.
But when I point my browser to http://www.mydomain.com/admin.php, I see the source code of the php file instead of the intended content.

E-smith's webmail is functioning properly and I can see all other internet PHP sites correctly.

What is wrong??

Thanks in advance

Sounds like you need the e-smith-base update from ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/updates/4.1.2/RPMS/noarch/e-smith-base-4.4.0-21.noarch.rpm (or you could put it in an ibay, and turn on dynamic content for that ibay).

Hi Dan,

Thanks for pointing me to the updates. I applied the lates udate and it worked.

The ibay top also worked. Before I had a problem, now a have a choice :)

Thanks!

You might also want to try PHP-Nuke, its on version 5 final and is available for download from phpnuke.or.

I've installed 2 intranet sites using phpnuke and 2 extranet sites (bahraini.tv and alyousif.tv) both hosted on e-smith version 4.1.2 with the patch mentioned by Dan Brown (same thread) applied. No problems at all.

If you want a step-by-step instruction on how to do it, please let me know.

regards and good luck nuking!

Mahmood if you could possibly send me some detailed instruction on how to install it in E-Smith I would really appreciate it.   I have the database loaded and can login into the admin.php file but when I click on any of the admin functions it just takes me back to the login screen again.  I have followed the directions from phpnuke and have also tried using myphpnuke with the same problem.

Any help would be appreciated,
Buddy

I'll do better! Post-Nuke is now released and I highly recommend it. It is a "true" open source application with a CVS where people can see the development going on and they can contribute with bug fixes etc. The support documents are also there for you to read.

The bug you're talking about is actually a known one with solutions available in the nukesupport.com forums.

But, to make you life easier, I would download the "fallout release" of PostNuke, last time I looked it was at 0.51 (read 5.1!). It has a full install script which makes it easy to install first time or upgrade in the future.

Download it from the Downloads section ofh ttp://www.postnuke.com, create your database (nuke or whatever you want to call it) then after you untar PostNuke into an ibay (with PHP enabled) just fire up your browser and go to http://www.yoursite.com/install.php and follow the simple
instructions.

Let me know if you need more help.
