Backing up the system using e-smith manager seems to work all fine. But this is not true. I recently installed a new server with E-Smith 4.1.2. I restored the system with data from the previous server. I have everything back but my entire MySQL database!!!!!
Solution: back up all files and folder in /var/lib/mysql too and restore them manually.
