My e-smith 4.1 server seems to no longer be able to start Appletalk.. I know this worked at one point, but now no longer does. Messages from my bootlog are as follows:
Jul 4 11:25:09 myserver atalk: Starting AppleTalk service
Jul 4 11:25:09 myserver atalk: (backgrounded)
Jul 4 11:25:09 myserver rc: Starting atalk: succeeded
Jul 4 11:25:09 myserver atalkd: AppleTalk not up! Child exited with 1.
Jul 4 11:25:09 myserver atalk: atalkd startup failed
Unfortunately, I'm not completely familiar with what I should be looking for in the AppleTalk startup process. Any suggestions as to where I might want to look next?
Also, the e-smith config file does have atalk set to "enabled".... I also tried removing the netatalk and e-smith netatalk rpms, renaming /etc/atalk -> /etc/atalkOLD, and reinstalling the rpms. The config files in /etc/atalk were correctly generated and populated under a new /etc/atalk directory. Upon reboot, atalk still fails with the same atalkd error.
