IBay - Password ?!
« on: July 21, 2001, 05:48:00 PM »
Hello,

since I did not succeed to make my PDC work with Samba 2.2, I'm trying to make an IBay which will be accessible only for the user I want.
I created the IBay and told my manager to make it accessible only for the admin. It works because when I try to go to that folder in Network Neighboorhood (Under Windows 2000) it tells me : "\Server\test is not accessible. Access is denied".

Now I want to go in that folder. I tried to map the network drive and it tells me : "The networkl path could not be found".
It's still OK since I did not enter any username and password.

But here is my problem. I did : "Connect using a different user name"
Then I entered "admin" and the password I use to connect to e-smith manager but I does not work.
It tells me :
"The network folder specified is currently mapped using a different user name and password. To connect using a different user name and password, first disconnect any existing mappings to this network share"
and then :
"The mapped network driver could not be created because the following error has occured. The credentials supplied conflicts with an existing credentials"

WOOAA the credentials error is back !!

Anyone can help ?

Thanx

ps: Currently using Samba 2.0.7

Try the following trick I often use within a native WinNT-Network.

Connect to the share just using the IP-Address instead the Servers name.

So instead of        \e-smith\myshare

type    \192.168.1.1\myshare
