Topic: ftp and telnet slow connections

Hello,
suddenly the connections with telnet and ftp have become very slow. It takes a long time to connect fro the internal network.
I work with 4.0. I also took named offline, to preserve processor time and so on.

Could that be related?
I am afraid I might be hacked?

little update, I notice named still works so it cannot be that.
