I am have e-smith configured in SERVER-ONLY mode and have configured 5 Virtual Domains on the box.  I've enabled WEBMAIL and PUBLIC access for internet (remote) users.  Within WEBMAIL, I am able to send to anyone on the internet and receive from anyone on the internet.  When I use OutLook or OutLook express (remotely) I am able to receive mail from anyone on the internet and only to send mail only to user established on my e-smith server.  I am configuring my POP and SMTP to hit the e-smith box.  My e-smith server is sitting behind a firewall therefore I decided not to run SERVER-GATEWAY.  My mail log keeps telling me that it will not forward smtp requests from remote users via line 49 (I guess it is one of the rules).  Can someone please tell me how to fix this?  I'm not a LINUX (e-smith) buff so I don't know exacly what to modify to remedy this problem.

I'm running into the same problem. I found in the e-smith manual that it simply says that it doesn't allow it, and to use webmail if you need to send email while on the road. Maybe editing qmail manually would do it, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
