Topic: VPN from behind an e-smith box connecting to another e-smith

I'm trying to setup VPN from my W98 box at home. The setup for connection is as follows.
W98 client-->My e-smith-box at home(dialup dynamic IP)->The internet via my ISP--> e-smith box at work(static IP perm. connection)
I've got DUN1.4 I've got 128 bit encryption on. Yet the error message contines to say:
"The computer you're dialing in to does not support the data encryption requirements specified.Please check your encryption settings in the properties of the connection. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator."
The e-smith box at work allows 2 pptp clients. I'm using the same user name and password.
Could it be related to the IP address of my w98 machine as serveded out by my e-smith box at home (its completely difft to the ones the e-smith box at work serves out)?
Could it be the e-smith box at home?
I've tried for hours and now am depending on the e-smith phorum friends to help out.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Your machine at home has to be e-smith 4.1.2; earlier versions don't masq the PPTP by default. I just tested the exact same setup & with 4.1.2 on both sides it worked like a charm.

I have 4.1.2 at both ends. The only difference is that the one at home was an upgrade from 4.1 to 4.1.2 beta to 4.1.2.

Bobby are you running VPN from a Win98 box? What are your settings?
Could the error be related to masq'ing. Hod do I check?

Under DUN 1.4 with 95 (I assume it's the same) under advanced options I checked them all except software compression, having NetBEUI checked under protocols didn't seem to make any difference but I didn't get too far into it.
I would try connecting your home machine directly to your connection (ie avoid the e-smith box) just to narrow down the possibilities - if it works with the straight connection you've got a masq issue.
