Squid and Dialup Conf. Help!
« on: August 28, 2001, 02:26:51 AM »
Hi All,

I've installed e-smith server to manage my dialup connection wich is the only way to connect to internet available in my location.

I've read that you must put somethings in te configuration templates for squid but i can't find them (squid.conf).

I'm a newbie in linux, however i've used suse linux and it has a tool named edit but e-smith does not, how sohuld i ever edit the conf file?

I have an AMD Duron running at 750 Mhz., using 3440u adaptec Scsi host card with an HP 9.1 gbytes hard disk 10k rpm running at scsi3 speed and a seagate 9.1 gbytes 5k rpm running at scsi2 speed and 768 megabytes of ram, does any of you know wich could be the best squid configuration? i have tried routing my browsers to the 3128 port, but it slows down a lot, i figure i'm doing something wrong.

And the las and very important, is there any way to connect two modems to increase bandwith?

I really appreciate any help, thanks in advance! : )
