FTP Problems

I'm getting the following errors . I can't get FTP server up and running:

Anyone have an idea?

Oct 10 18:23:54 e-smith proftpd[20134]: e-smith.dial.yi.org - Failed binding to 0.0.0.0, port 21: Address already in use
Oct 10 18:24:28 e-smith xinetd[843]: refused connect from 192.168.1.1
Oct 10 18:24:34 e-smith proftpd: proftpd shutdown failed
Oct 10 18:24:35 e-smith proftpd: proftpd startup failed
Oct 10 18:26:29 e-smith proftpd: proftpd shutdown failed
Oct 10 18:26:31 e-smith proftpd: proftpd startup failed
Oct 10 18:27:51 e-smith proftpd: proftpd shutdown failed

And when I try and start the server manually I get the following:

[root@e-smith init.d]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/proftpd  restart

Hi

Did you sort this out?

I have 2 servers where ftp connections are being refused (and one server where it works fine).

I get the same errors as you if I try to restart proftpd, although I can't see your other errors in my logs.  Which log was it?
