Topic: printers and windows xp

I have an e-smith box that serves as a print server.
It works great with win 9x, but I can't get a windows xp client to spool a print job. According to the xp box, the drivers are installed correctly, but no output.
Do I need to do anyhting special for win xp?

The xp client saw the printers on the e-smith box during the install process, and the port is configured.
