NT password probs...
« on: January 13, 2001, 05:33:53 AM »
I have an e-smith box which has a local private
lan and a public external lan. On the private side
are win2K machines, and on the public side is one
win2K server, which the private machines used to log
into (they all used to have public IPs, but we need to keep
the w2K server public). Now that I have the e-smith
box there, I made some small config changes to the samba
config file and the private machines log into the win2K
server on the public side.

THE PROBLEM: if a user changes his/her password, it no longer
works. I have no users setup on the e-smith box, and it
was working preivously. If that user goes back to using the
old password, it works fine. This is the first time I have
ever seen this, and I have setup many e-smith boxen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS: the only things I changed in the smb.conf templates
were to tell it that the win2K server is the wins server
and that the public subnet is browsable by the inside.

Thanks.
