I keep getting an error when doing this( something about the db).

I did figure out a way that works just as well. Go into /etc/rc.7d/ , and copy the file S91atalk ( or whatever has the word atalk in it, copy is cp [filename] [destination] ), and then you can delete the file safely. This stops the service from starting up, which makes the server boot up a lot faster( in my case, which is why I didn't want it ).
