HI,

I have a question, perdon me if this has been asked before.

When i start up my E-smith on a HP Kayak XU-800 there are 2 option:
1) E-Smith
2) E-Smith UP

May I know what is the difference?

Your system obviously has more than one processor in it... when E-Smith is installed on a multiprocessor machine, both of these options are installed.

The E-Smith option boots the system using the SMP (Symmetrical Multi-Processing) Kernel.  E-Smith UP is intended as a backup option for when the SMP kernel doesn't work for some reason.  It boots the uniprocessor kernel.

Just because you have both options does not mean you had a dual processor machine or a dual capable machine.  I have quite a few machines that always give me both options when I install.  They are most definately not Dual capable.  It does appear that all of the machines that do exibit this behavior are all based on the 815 chipset.

Hmmm maybe should look at my chipset

but how do i know The kernel can support dual processor
