I have a compaq 6000 server with two 4/8 gb DAT drives. but can not get backup to work. here is the result of cat /proc/scsi/scsi

Attached devices:

Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 05 Lun: 00
  Vendor: ARCHIVE  Model: 4326XX 27871-XXX Rev: 0322
Type:   Sequential-Access                ANSI SCSI revision: 02

Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 06 Lun: 00
Vendor: HP       Model: C1533A           Rev: A612
Type:   Sequential-Access                ANSI SCSI revision: 02

Is there any way to get backup working on this server ?

I have exactly the same Tape drive in my server - only one of them however

No problems with it what so ever

Does the SCSI card have a BIOS on it that allows you access to it at reboot? If so, verify the settings. Barring that, ensure that there is proper termination. Both of those drives should work - though, truth be told - I'm not familliar with running 2 drives at once.
