And when i try to connect, i get this error message:

I doublechecked username, password and "Localhost" but nil!

If you check in the /root map you'll find a file called " .my.cnf ", view this file and you'll know the password you need to use in the config file from phpMyAdmin.

Hi there, and special greetings to Confucius (spent so much time reading your posts could not write !). Well, let us see this one problem, so many users seem to go thru it ...

I downloaded the latest version (2.2.1-0.noarch) and installed it from the console, beeing actually on the e-smith directly. Edited the /.my.cnf file and changed the password to an easier one. Then edited the config.inc.php file to reflect the user's (root only for a start) password I just changed. Still receive the "wrong credentials" message when trying to connect to http://myserver/phpmyadmin
How can I solve this ? Any hints someone
