System does not boot anymore
« on: January 18, 2002, 02:29:52 PM »
i am running an e-smith-server as a file-server for a couple of months and never experienced any problems. but sine one week, the system isnĀ“t able to boot.

it says that there are some errors in the ext2 filesystem. after the automatic check, i can enter the root-password and access all files via midnight commander in a "read-only-mode". wenn entering "fsck" it says that the superblock may be corrupt.

what can i do to recover the filesystem and make the e-smith-server booting again??

many thanx in advance!

Entering this command has fixed this for me in the past:

fsck /

Good luck - you DO have a backup, right?
