I had a problem with my VPN connection to the SME server.
The server is at my parents.
It works great from WinME at my house.
Doesn't work from Win98 at work.

I figure that it has somthing to do with the link below.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q299387

I know I set eth0 to the LAN and eth1 to the WAN
So the question is how do i reorder the NICs without changing the configuration? and preferably without having to go to my parents.

I don't think your problem is anything to do with the Microsoft article, it's a completely different server (ie win 2000 not sme server)
If you can connect with WinME then your sme server is set correctly.
I had to update win98SE with DUN 14 before it would "talk" to sme properly, to do with 128 bit encryption etc. Perhaps this is your problem
from a previous forum article http://download.microsoft.com/download/win98/Update/17648/W98/EN-US/dun14-98.exe
If this doesn't fix it then, what message or error do you get when trying to connect with Win98 ?
