OLE problems with ibay

I changed from a win95 server to e-smith for a client who wanted security.

The contact management database they use has embedded OLE links to documents which were at G: (\server\admin)

As e-smith has a user called admin, these are now at G: (\server\main)

And the software claims that the OLE object is presently unavailable.

Does this mean that OLE uses "hard" UNC names, ignoring drive mappings?  If so, how difficult will it be to rename the admin user, thus allowing me to create an "admin" share?

Perhaps I will have to rollback to '95....

Thanks for your time!

I had a problem with a number of MS Office installations at one of the sites where I am testing e-smith in production - kept getting messages about being unable to find files and not allowing us to save files in certain places. The fundamental problem was poor handling of UNC names by MS applications and several monographs in the MS Knowledge Base supplied the solution. I think this one may be of use to you..
