Hi,

Here is my question:
If I use E-Smith with the VPN module running as a server, it is then possible for someone (using Windows 98 or 2000) to connect to the VPN directly ... using a basic dial up internet connection ... (say from a laptop anywhere in the world) ?
If yes, what program is required to run onto the remote Windows machine ?

I guess that the remote machine will need the encryption key.
Regarding this key, I understand that E-Smith generates a key itself. Is it possible to change this key ?

In windows 98, you simply need to add the VPN adapter, and add the required information for a new connection (username, password, and server address).  Make sure you have updated DUN to the latest version as well.

To initiate a connection to the VPN, you must first establish you internet connection, and then initiate the VPN connection.  I find that traditional modem links are _very_ slow, and it is difficult to do very much in terms of getting/putting files.
