Topic: Differences between PPTP and IPSec

Hi,

Still concerning the problem I have to ping a router from a network connected to another via IPSEC VPN over adsl, I tried to ping this famous router from a client outside my network which connects to it via a PPTP connection and then ... miracle, the client in PPTP mode can ping this router but the SME box which is the slave IPSEC connector can't ... So what's the point, why this dumb machine still don't want to ping this router ?

Ho, I forgot, the router is aware of the master SME box which is on the same network so it shouldn't be a problem of incoming traffic on the router that should be dropped due to the lack of way back routing information ...

Any idea ?

pfff ... I'm despaired by this, sometimes, you shouldn't even wake up ;o)
