No access to view my website on e-smith

Hello ... Problem as usual.

ADSL conn with a static ip. In the external NIC registar records www.mycompany.org points to my static ip assigned to me ny me ADSL provider, and in a whois search results well and correct.

In my local network doing a www.mycompany.org gives me the famous " welcome to xyz..." and so works well (that would be without getting out onto the internet I guess) but isolating a machine and using a dial up connection ...from the outside the www.mycompany.org gives an error message in internet explorer saying that "you do not have permission to see this web page" (the system is in italian so the message may not be very specific).

any ideas?? one thing is the isolated machine with the dial up works on other common sites like yahoo.com and the rest (even .org) it even sees my web page using direct addressing like "http://123.456.789.1" so what's the part I have messed up?..

PS:...nearly completed the end of the translation of esmith into italian so the next week starting monday will have the complete web based manager ready in italian (wish me luck and a lot of late nights).

My guess is you have an incorrect setting with your external DNS provider.  If you provide your actual .org domain name it would be easy for anyone to check this for you.

I *think* that e-smith blocks port 80 for the primary site until you go through the starter website script. I had this problem today and reproduced using an external proxy. I filled in the form for a starter website and all of a sudden I could see the site through the external proxy. I then copied over the files that the starter website form placed in primary/html and I got the website I wanted. I am now getting my friends to check from their isp.

Cheers Paul.
