What is the best way to set up my @home internet connection with the esmith server & gateway that I am about to install?

Also, what is the best cable modem to get that will work well with linux? I am wiggling my way out of windows and really do not want any M$ on my network.

Any and all info would be appreciated.

Read the manual and follow the instructions. It works fine with @home - I am using it now.
