has anyone managed to get this working??

if i edit the default user all is good, but i need two groups (staff and Student)

is this possible, and how?? i have searched the net and samba.org and they is no information anywhere.

AS far as I am aware the "group" bit won't work because it is looking for NT groups not Linux groups. A work around would be to make a group compatible user and copy and rename it for every user in the group
