Topic: Using ppp in a serveronly config

I have e-smith running as an internal server.

I need to use it to occassionally dial up to an ISP for a few seconds to keep the account active (it won't be using the connection for any other purpose and all IP traffic should continue to be routed through the default gateway).

How do I set this up?

I'm assuming that I'll use cron to automate the connection/disconnection (once a week). It's just getting to the point where ppp-on and ppp-off control the connection that I need help with.
