Topic: Linksys/ Network Everywhere NC 100

I just bought these cards becuase the esmith site said they were supported but When I go to configure thriugh the console they come up as unknown.  I have tried the tulip drivers but nothing works.  I have also set the bios to assign the irqs to the pci slots.  But that don't work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What happens when you try to load the driver via the command line?  Login as root and issue:

modprobe tulip

I had similar trouble using Windows on Linksys cards.  I found I had to go to their Linksys website and associate my serial number with a particular driver.  

My cards were not exactly the same as yours however.

My local lug has a half dozen e-smith boxes. Often, we find the problems with net cards have to do with the box not supporting bus mastering, and the net cards requiring it. You might check to see if your box supports it.

I might add that we hate linksys cards with e-smith...many man hours of difficulties. However, we've had good luck with dlink, 3com and intel eepro's.

Got everything working using the old ISA cards I had it took 2 weeks of playing around with it but it is now up and running.
