accessing my pages- browser treats as binary

accessing my pages- browser treats as binary
« on: June 21, 2002, 05:59:48 AM »
myphpnuke-1.8.8 installed on my e-smith 5 update4 as per:
http://myezserver.com/downloads/mitel/contrib/myphpnuke-1.8.8/

Actually, this seems to be happening with several other packages as well so it is not 'directly' related to myphpnuke.  When I access (or attempt to) pages on my site, the browser wants to download them?!

What may be causing this?  Anyone know?

Thank you

Did you install mod_gzip?

I've seen the issue where if mod_gzip is installed and you are using a proxy server without HTTP 1.1 via Proxy enabled in the advanced settings of IE, you are prompted for download.  If this is the case, simply enabled HTTP 1.1 via Proxy.

Let me know if you use mod_gzip,
Nathan

Interestingly, I have the http 1.1 enabled and do NOT have the mod_gzip rpm installed.

Maybe I should install it?

Are you using a proxy?  Is the MIME type incorrect on your phpBB?

No proxy, and I didn't get far enough with phpbb to have seen a MIME type option.

Does your default primary website exhibit this behavior?

No, it has only been on these two packages.  It occurred AFTER having (supposedly) a successful install of each...during the admin configuration.  I just printed out a config review and wonder if this:
