Why only secure access?
« on: June 28, 2002, 01:45:07 PM »
Hi,
In testing version 5.1.2, I've installed it several times. Problem is that, sometimes, the only way I can access the server-manager or the webmail (from inside my LAN) is to sign in securely (https://). On other installs, even though it's the same machine, I can access its non-securely (http://). Right now, I can access the machine non-securely from my workstation (signed in at the workstation as ADMIN) but the other stations must sign in secure.
I don't understand what changes from setup to setup. Any idea's? I would rather that, from inside the LAN, everyone could sign in regularly. I hope I've made some sense! :o)

So, you don't mind passwords flying over the lan in plaintext, with anyone able to read them?

Stay away from my network, please.

Jeffrey

Zaphod,
It's a deal... I'll stay away from your network. But I'm curious... did you have anything contructive to add?
