Hi,
I'm having a problem with our email server and I'm trying to track it down. Every time we try to send an email with an attachment it fails. E-mails with no attachment are fine.
In the qmail current log I can see the "starting delivery" messages. After a period of time a message for that message id states, depending on the destination email server, that firstly there is a deferral (reason connection_died ). On the retry we get
"SMTP_incoming_data_timeout_-_closing_connection." echoed from the remote host.
without an attachment we get the usual "Remote host accepted" type of messages.
Obviously we get a slightly different error message from different mail servers, but in all cases the error is along the data timeout lines. Internal deliveries are fine.
We are running 5.1.1 with all current blades installed.
anyone got any ideas as to what is causing this timeout? We are running on a 1M ADSL connection. Carrier says it's not their fault! Any hints as to where to go from here would be greatly appreciated!!
