Topic: Problem with xinetd??? Bad line received from identity serve

Hi everyone,

I have tried to figure out this problem to no avail.

I am running SME 5.1.2, with no problems. In the last few days, I have been getting many errors in the logs of the following type.

"Jul 2 11:12:43 mail xinetd[2725] : Bad line received from identity server at XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX: 64484 , 110 : ERROR : NO-USER"

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the problem, but the server this error is coming from (XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) is a Slackware based router running inetd and not xinetd. All users in that office are unable to send or receive email, (which is sent through an external VPN connection to the SME box) while users in my office are unable to connect to thier server for more then a few minutes at a time. After several minutes the connection will freeze and then drop.

I have read through the forums and thought I had found the answer in http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=13085.msg49342#msg49342, however we have a static IP and not a dynamic one.

I know that quite a few users have been seeing these same problems. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction quickly.
