Corrupted Downloads

Hello everyone.  I have a LAN setup with an e-smith machine routing an adsl line to my client computers.  I use one of the clients (Win XP) to download programs.  I keep getting messages that files are corrupted, and i should download files again.  I'm thinking this could be caused by the firewall that comes with e-smith.  I may be wrong. I know very little about e-smith but I'd like to fix this problem.  Appreciate any help.  Thank you

I run XP (Athlon 1600+ on Via mainboard) and had similar problems. It is nothing to do with e-smith..it is possibly a Mainboard/Ram/Voltage issue I don't know  for sure though. My problems went away after changing ram but the original ram has been tested under Win98 and performs beautifully. There is a discussion on the issue here:

I've also seen a defective Hub/Switch/Cable cause data corruption.  If you are using a hub or switch (I assume you would have to be) try swapping it out with a known-good device.

Hope this helped,
