Topic: How to make SME5.5 to be WINS Server ?

Anyone know how to make SME5.5 to be a WINS Server.
client computer = 98 or ME
I made, but it not work
the client cannot browser another computer in the " my network place "
my SME5.5 with DHCP and client can lease WINS Server IP.
all the computer are working in the same workgroup
and enable Netbios over IP
anyone can teach me how to do.....

Is the sme box acting as your pdc?

YES......and as a primary domain
only one SME5.5 and 5 x ME Client

Did you check the /etc/smb.conf file allready?  Think there is an option in it to enable that

Can you see the SME when browsing network neighbourhood? Have you enabled file and print sharing on any of the win98 ME boxes? When you go into network neighbourhood does the domain appear? Have you made sure that you have set the Workgroup name and the domain name to the same in the Win98 ME boxes?
