Topic: Ftp Questions

Since I am getting no responce in the general discussion area.  I am hoping some one here can answer my questions.

1.  Is there a way to make ftp://mydomain.com a secure site so that only auth. users can see the files?

2.  What is the path of where the users are in my server when they FTP in to my server from a command prompt.  Meaning I want to find out where to put the files so they can easily ftp them by loggin in and type LS they will see all of the file i have granted them access to.

Anyone with an answer please help I have posted these questions like three times and never got an answer and they dont seem like they would be very hard to answer.

I realy hate to say this, but have you actually looked at the server manager page, and tried a few things under Information Bays, like enabling public access via FTP?

..and if that does not do what you want, why not??

/home/e-smith/files/ibays/whateveryoucalledyouribay/files/...and your files go here..

And  if I miss something because I did not read your earlier posts, forgive my ignorance, I just have a 5 min break and spotted your question, to which I have the above answers.

You answers the first quest well enough but the sencond question I need to know is what is the defualt directory for users if the ftp a file to me through a dos prompt.

Also I do not have any ibay set up currently but I will when I get back to my server

The default directory will be the user's home directory.

That was my question what is the path to the users home directory?
