Topic: File lock in Quark on Apple MAC

Hi All,

I am looking after a site using SME Server  5.1.2. The Apple clients are 9.2.2 and quark has been patched to 4.11.

We can open a file fine but when we go to save over or save a new file we are getting a file lock error. We are also experiencing abnormal responses from Adobe Pagemaker.

Has anyone had similar problems and if so how did you resolve it?

Hi Sean,

I've also had this problem with OS 9 and e-smith 5.1.2.

The workaround we've come up with is to save to the local hard disk, then copy them to the ibay.  An extra step, but it does work to get the files there.

I've been looking for a solution to this for awhile now.  This looks like the best I've found here so far (Thanks to Mr. Maggard):
