Question about routing multiple subnets over a VPN connectio
« on: August 19, 2002, 05:38:42 PM »
I have 2 offices connected trough a VPN link on e-smith. Office A and Office B.

Office A has also a connection with a remote office over a frame relay connection. Let's call this one office C.

Office A has IP range 192.168.0.0/24
Office B has IP range 172.16.0.0/24
Office C has IP range 126.0.0.0/8

 Office A <---------- VPN ----------> Office B <----------- Frame Relay -------------> Office C
192.168.0.0/24                      172.16.0.0/24                                    126.0.0.0/8

I like to create a route from office A to office C over the VPN link between these two e-smith servers. Is this possible. I tried to create standard routes but this doesn't work. I read something about ipsec eroute, but there is not much documentation which explains the practical use of eroute. Or do I have to define more tunnels between these 2 e-smith boxes.

Is there anyone who can help me out?

Thanks a lot,

Peter van Hameren

I would play around with the commands at this link:
http://www.e-smith.org/bugs/index.php3?op=showBug&bugID=71

Change default in Router default to IP addresses of your next hop SME server's internal or external interface.  fyi - these entries show up in server-manager under Local Networks.

I haven't tried this myself, so no guarantees.....
