Outlook Express

Well i would like to say that the setup and configuration etc of this product is awesome.......but.......i can not for the life of me get Outlook Express 5 to show me the inbox, sent items and drafts as it does through the webmail interface.

i have made the changes to the root path in express to

/home/e-smith/files/users/"username"/nsmail/

and still no luck.  I keep getting all sorts of errors

Has anyone had the same experience?  Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Cheers in advance

Hello Don,

could you please elaborate on what you are trying to do? If you use IMAP on outlookXpress you can 'subscribe' your mailclient to these folders you made in webmail. But seeing /nsmail/ at the end of your path..... ??? Just very curious what you're trying to do.

I think you just need to change OE to "mail/" to get it looking in the mail subdirectory, as opposed to the root of the user's directory.

Thanks for the response guys,
Well i have configured Outlook Express to use IMAP and i found these settings in the userguide (PDF) and i placed these settings in my Outlook Express and that is how i got to where i am.

If you could tell me the correct path i shoudl be using (in full) i would be very appreciative.

Thanks again.

I assume you have set up all the IMAP account info? (Like IMAP server = mail and SMTP server is mail and your account info from the server)

I use Outlook but think it'll be the same for Xpress. Click on the inbox so you are not in the overview page or calender or what ever. Then Extra->IMAP-maps->
You now get a popup window with the button query in it, press it and you should see all the IMAP maps it can find for you belonging to the IMAP account you created. The ones you have allready been subscribed to have a folder in front of them. Click on the map you want to subscribe to and press the subscribe button.
Now your outlook should have access. It doesn't display it yet but its there in the maplist you can select it there or make a shortcut.

Are you sure this is what you were looking for. I suspect its not but let me know if you figure it out.

Jan
