Topic: syslog 2 mysql

Greetings all,

I've been trying to determine the best way to send syslog data to mysql on e-smith 5.5.  In looking about I have found some info on using syslog-ng, but not the existing syslog that's stock with v5.5.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how to transfer syslog messages into mysql real-time?  Once they are in mysql I will be looking at generating alerts, etc.
