Topic: Bandwith reduced by Firewall?

I've got the esmith software running as a gateway to our partial (256K - 4 channels) T1 line. The problem is this: I get the full bandwidth TO the firewall, but it appears as though I only get 64K (1 channel) to the LAN. I seem to lose 192K (3 channels) of bandwidth between the firewall and the LAN.

Example: COMP1 is downloading @ 30K/sec. If I start the same download from COMP2, both end up downloading @ 15K/sec. Add COMP3 to the mix, and it's @ 10K/sec. Etc, etc...

Am I missing something obvious here? Does anyone have some insight to my problem? Is there a link to a solution?

Any help in restoring my lost bandwidth will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer.

That looks about right to me.I have a 512k pipe and can only get about 70 to 80k downloads. Remember that the 256k is bits/second and the 30k that you are getting is bytes per second.A byte is 8 bits therefore 8 X 30kbytes = 240kbits. Add on the parity bits and all the extras and it would bring it around to 256k.
