Maybe chmod the i-bay to full read (and write) permissions for everyone ?
I have an i-bay called upload on my server and all my clients can use this one to write/delete/modify/read there files.

In old versions of e-smith, 'everybody' meant everybody.  I'm not sure which verson made the change, but now 'everybody' means 'everybody with a login on this box' as far as the samba shares go.   You'll need to add a custom template to get 'guest ok = yes'  into the appropriate place in /etc/samba/smb.conf.
