I have a Sony SDT-5010 tape backup system using SME 5.5. It works fine except it will not backup anymore than approx 4gb of data. All the flex backup's were working fine and completed until we had approx 5gb or more to backup and the backup message said " no space left on device " I know the unit is designed to do 4 Gb native & 8Gb compressed. The tapes are imation 4mm DDS2 -120.
SME 5.5 thinks the unit is a Sony SDT-5000 model at boot up.
I placed a borrowed (seagate ) tape backup system in the computer
4 x 8 and the backups work fine with 5 Gb or more of data.
What could I try next with my SDT-5010 to get it to do more than 4 Gb?
