Topic: configure path of www

I've installed an Latex System on my 5.5 and want now to use Latex with my apache using php. to access the latex bins i need to configure the path of user "www", but i really have no idea how to do it... adding

PATH=$PATH:/usr/TeX/bin/i386-linux

to my /etc/profiles makes only root able to use Latex...

please be so kind and help an newbie
