I was going through the how-to on bandwidth limiting. I download the squid package as in the title and when i was going through the steps in the how-to section. I copied the package to the /var/tmp directory then unpacked it. I then changed to the squid-2.4.stable1 directory. All was good. When i went to run the command ./configure --prefix=/opt/squid --exec-prefix=/opt/squid etc,etc,etc i gave me a messge

configure: error: no acceptable cc found in $PATH
What does this mean? what can i do to fix it? I am running e-smith 5.5 is this okay to use with this? Do i have to uninstall squid to fix this? If so where is the file and how do i uninstall it? Said in the forum this was going to be easy for a novice? Guess i am not even at that level yet. But i am trying. Thanks to anyone who may be able to help. Krusty
